RIP PJ

PJ at the Bichon Bash
Meet PJ. He was our second client at the Capitol BIshon Bash this year. At first, his human seemed a little reluctant to have a sitting with us and we though it was because they had just arrived and PJ might need to settle in a bit first from the excitement of meeting up with 250 or so of his fellow little white fluff-balls. However, a moment later we learned that she wasn’t sure it would work because PJ wasn’t feeling well.
It turns out that PJ had cancer. It came up on his shoulder, but had been under the muscle and undetectable for too long. The cancer spread to his lungs and there was little to do but keep him happy and comfortable.
When I heard the news I basically begged for the session and told his mom “if it doesn’t work, we’ll just forget about it.”
I think we managed a few good images and this is one of my favorites. I love his little Bichon Smile.
After the session, I held PJ, his fluffy white hair soaking up my tears while Tammy got all the contact details so we can get the photos where they need to go.
PJ left us a few days later.
